Ever so Blind

Blindness is more then being literally blind. There are all types of blindness, for ecample Mary Dalton being blind to the fact that Bigger is black. Blindness is one of the most inportent thems in this book because there ate several people in this book that are blind, eather to the facts of life, or to the matter at hand, or being literally bling. Throughout the story blindness is a key factor.

Early in the story Bigger was suppost to be taking Mary to school but instead of going to school she wanted to go to her boyfriends house. She told Bigger to turn off cours to go away from school and this made him nurvis because he did not want to get in trouble for not taking her to school and somewhere else instead. As they got to the house Jan came out and instead of being a typical white man and ignoring him like everyone else or talking down to him, he introduced himself ( Jan smiled broadly, then extended an open palm toward him - p#66 tan ). this made Bigger vary uneasy because this has never happened before. He was blind to the experience, as was Jan blind to Bigger being black.

Almost everyone in this book is blind including Mrs. Dalton being litarlly blind. The Dalton family including Peggie is blind to the fact that Bigger was the reason that there doughter was missing, and blind to the fact that he had killed her. There was also Britten and the media that were blind for a little bit because they belived that Jan kidnaped Mary. They belived this because of the randsom not that Bigger had left, sind red and had the communist party simbol.(the main thing was keeping their nids turned in another direction, Jan's direction, of that of Jan's friends. p#212 tan)
