I do not think Sonny's morality has changed much yet. I think the best example of this is on page 74 when Sonny speaks out during his fathers meeting with Sollozzo. After the Don says no to Sollozzo Sonny asks "The Tattaglia family guarantees the return of our investment without any percentage from us?". This quote shows how Sonny doesn't really know his right from wrong or if he does, he doesn't care.
What's Sonny's penalty for speaking out of turn and saying what he said?
Does Sollozzo take Sonny's speaking out of turn as a chance to get what he wants?
