SONNY CORLEONE
Why did Sonny go after Carlo and beat him up? How was Sonny killed and who found him? Sonny had beaten Carlo up because he had beaten Sonny's sister (Connie) up, who is also Carlo's unborn baby's mother. "He let the blows rain on his unprotected head and neck until Sonny's rage ebbed", Sonny looked down at him and said, "You dirty bastard, you ever beat up my sister again I'll kill you" (p. 243 & 244). A while later Carlo had beaten Connie up again so Sonny was on his way to get her. On the way Sonny was shot in the head and neck. "The two men each fired shots into Sonny's body, then kicked him in the face to disfigure his features even more, to show a mark made by a more personal human power" (p. 265). The security guards that Hagen had sent to follow Sonny were the ones that had found him slumped and shot dead. C.H.
