The furnace

So far in this book you find out that Bigger just killed Mary and he's trying to think of the different ways he could get rid of her body so he doesn't get in trouble for it. Bigger starts thinking of the trunk so he puts her body in there and goes into the basement. He goes by the furnace and gets an idea. Bigger was thinking "I could, I-I could put her, I could put in the FURNACE. I would burn her! That would be the safest thing of all to do." (page number 91)
With what we just fond out about how Bigger will get rid of the body, you can say that Bigger was just so worried about getting caught up with this accident that he would do pretty much anything to the body. For me I would think about respecting the body and I would want her to get burried by her family. I think that Bigger just needs to take time the calm down and think. You can tell that Bigger doesn't think people would believe him about what really happened, he doesn't think people would be on his side so he wants the body gone which might cause more trouble along the way.
The furnace shows the feeling of guilt. It represents guilt in Bigger, guilt of killing the one white women who cared for him as a friend. Guilt for killing his bosses daughter. Guilt of bringing her to her boyfriend and letting them drink. Guilt of not just handing her off to her father. Guilt of everything about him almost. Guilt connects to fear because when your guilting of something you will also feeling fear of people finding out or getting caught. Guilts when you do something wrong, And sometimes you feel fear because you did something wrong too. Both feelings can cause people to do things they might not normally do like kill someone and then want to burn their body.
What other rasons might he feel guilty about?
What do you think will happen after he throws her into the furnace?
Do you think Bigger will come clean about it on his own from the guilt building up?
What other feelings might Bigger have after he throws her in the furnace?
