What makes people do the things they do.
What makes society so corrupt? it's the economy; were at a recession and we can't do anything about it.Also, it's the feeling people get when they or their family member is down in the gutter; They'll do whatever they feel is necessary at the moment. Its just like what Sonny said to Michael when their dad was shot "Whatya gonna do? Nice college boy, eh? Don't wanna get mixed up in the family business? Now you wanna gun down a police captain because he slapped you in the face a little bit, huh? Whataya think this is, the Army, where you shoot 'em a mile away? You gotta get up close like this... badaBING! you blow their brains all over your nice Ivy League suit. C'mere... you're taking this very personal." Michael wanted to kill Sollozzo after hearing that his dad almost got killed; also, because he got hit in the face.I'm going to talk how these two different stories relate to each other and how they have their differences.
What makes Michael and this old man in the video so similar, is that they weren't doing it for their own greed. They were doing it for their family, because they felt obligated to the situation they was in. Michael felt he was the only one that could get the meeting head to head with Sollozzo and McCluskey; The old man felt it was his responsibility to put food on table no matter what the cost was. They were both very good mens, until they felt this was the only way to support their family.
What makes these two difference, is their doing two difference things. Michael doing it for family (the mafia) and for revenge for the shooting of his dad; The old man is doing it for his family. Also, Michael intention was to kill someone, as for the old man his intention was to just rob a store without anybody getting hurt. Michael had everything planned out, so he could get away with the murder; The old man probably didn't have any plan, he just went in their without and thinking and id what he was suppose to do.
