There was a 16year old girl who went to bed on May 4th 2004 and was gone the next morning. Joanna Rogers was a Lubbock Texas honor student and never ran away before. They are not sure as of where she is or who may have taken her. Now she would be about 21 years old. :( In the book Native Son Bigger kills Mary but is going to send a note the his boss saying that someone has her and wants money. Even though we know Mary is dead but with Joanna Rogers no one knows if shes alive, hurt, or dead. In the book Native Son Bessie found out the truth for once, that Bigger killed the girl. Bigger said to her "Yeah; I killed the girl. Now, you know. You got to help me. you in it as deep as me! You done spent some of the money...." Then you can tell how scary it must be knowing that theres somone you dont really know right by you trying to hurt you cuz when Bigger said that if she scaream he'll have to kill her she replies "Naw; naw! Bigger, don't! Don't!" so from that you can think about how Joanna must of felt when the person was trying to take her form her own room.
Flight has to do with this because as soon as Joannas kidnapper took her he went away, didnt even stay at his normal house he moved. Thats the same thing that Bigger wants to do after he gets the money with Bessie. People thinks its safer to do bad and then run and try to hide when really that just makes people wonder about you more. Blindness has to do with it because they still don't know who took Joanna and they don't know where she could be. People that knew Joanna could of been filled with so much fear and anger that its caused them to be blind to the people who they think they know very well and trust.
